You Know Who we are.

A fixture in the Minneapolis folk music community for over fifteen years, The founding members of Prank Williams met almost two decades past in the mammoth manse of an unknown Irishman deep in the St Paul hills.

The search for different musical genres and life experience separated the two for years until, at the crossroads of political turmoil and epidemiological uncertainty, they were reunited.

Christopher "Hollywood" Hollister, founder and singer for the rabble rousing local favorite Broken Spoke, and Tony Petersen, guitar hero of Duluth favorites Social Animals, have created an alt-americana, symphonically diverse, sonically experimental body of work.

“[this] rabble-rousing folk band, members Chris Hollister and Tony Petersen, and Chris Kopp…perform across the country…
Their first time here, no one left the place. These guys are slightly vaudevillian in their approach to the audience. They get everyone engaged and waiting for what may come next. One member of the crowd compared them to the Smothers Brothers of 70’s fame-firstly they are musicians, but there will be loads of jokes and stories. They play off each other, but watch it, you may unknowingly become part of the show.” - Amy Werner, Trempealeau Hotel and Stage in Trempealeau, WI

“The duo… began its Wednesday evening residency at Cedar Lounge in Superior on Oct. 5 with a rambunctious performance I was happy to witness…The range of songs was expansive. They paired “Sex Is On Fire” by Kings of Leon with “I’m on Fire” by Bruce Springsteen…But covers weren’t the only tunes presented; the group also performed several original songs – “Hurricane, Utah” written by Hollister, “You Freak Me Out Sometimes” and “New Routine” by Petersen and “Stairs Lead Down,” on which the two collaborated…Look for Prank Williams…to be back at Cedar on Oct. 19 and 26 and get ready for a wild and fun time. -Jill Fisher, Duluth Reader
